Urgent care
We provide out-of-state urgent care through BlueCard®, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association program that gives our members access to physicians anywhere in the United States outside of Michigan where a blue plan is offered.
If you are traveling outside of Michigan and need treatment for an illness or injury, call BlueCard’s 24-hour telephone line at 1-800-810-BLUE (2583). Tell the BlueCard representative what type of health plan you have, the area in which you need health care and the type of health care professional you need. He or she will provide the names of participating providers closest to you. You can also visit BlueCard’s Web site for a list of BlueCard participating providers.
If you need urgent care while traveling in Michigan, call your primary care physician. He or she will provide the care you need or direct you to an urgent care center. Customer Service, 1-800-662-6667, can also help you locate a participating urgent care center, or check online for a complete list of participating urgent care centers.
For behavioral health services in Michigan, call 1-800-482-5982 (TTY: 1-800-482-5982) for immediate help. Our behavioral health care managers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to evaluate your needs and arrange for services. You do not need a referral from your primary care physician.
